Review of The Coppersmith Farmhouse (Jamison Valley #1): here

She took a dare and fell in love. Truth would have been the smarter choice.

After years of living under her father’s thumb, Emmeline is ready to break free. She’s abandoned her life as a New York socialite to follow her dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher in a small, wholesome town. Seeing the man that nearly broke her was absolutely not what she had hoped to find in Prescott, Montana.

Nick hasn’t seen his Emmy in nine years, but that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten a thing about the woman he loves. After just one blissful night as man and wife, he gave her up, sacrificing his own happiness to keep her safe—far away from him. But the moment she walks back into his lonely life is the moment he decides never to let her go again. He won’t waste his second chance. All he has to do is win back Emmeline’s heart, keep her safe from the shadows in his past and prove to her that taking a wager on him is a sure bet.

Before starting this review, can we talk about this cover? Isn’t it the most gorgeous cover ever?! Well this series has the most beautiful cover, the first one is pretty, the second one is gorgeous and the third one is awesome. I love the color scheme used in every cover. I can wait to see the covers for book 4 and 5!

Now that I talked about the covers, I can start my review. I HAD to talk about the covers you know…

In The Clover Chapel we are following Emmeline and Nick. You might remember Nick from book 1, The Coppersmith Farmhouse. He is the firemen and is friend with Jess (the hero from book 1). We haven’t met Emmeline in the previous book but she is the new kindergarten teacherof the town.

The book open 9 years ago. Emmeline is in Las Vegas with a group of friends celebrating their graduation. All her friends are enjoying this trip but not Emmeline, until Nick arrived and dared her to do a lot of things. They had the most lovely, awesome, crazy night that you might guess, end up in the hotel room. But the next morning Emmy woke up and Nick left her with only a one word letter: « Sorry ». And then the story continues in present time (so 9 years after Las Vegas), Emmy is arriving in this little city of Montana, Prescott. Obviously you see this coming, she is in the same city as Nick and they met again after 9 years. And I won’t say more about the story, you will have to read this amazing book to know more about Nick and Emmy’s story.

p style= »text-align:justify; »>Like I said, Nick is the fireman of Prescott. He is a guy who only loved one woman in his life and had immediately regretted leaving Emmy nine years ago in Las Vegas. And gosh you feel how sad and remorseful he is for what he did to Emmy but you also feel all the love he had for her. He was such a sweet hero and the 2/3 scenes he has with Rowen (Jess’ wife’s daughter) were the cutest thing ever!
Emmeline aka Emmy is the new kindergarten teacher. She left New York because she was suffocated by the city, by her father and needed to get away from all of that and start anew at least for a year. She comes from a rich family, his father wanted Emmy to work for him, which she did for 7 years but decided to follow her dream and be a teacher. Let’s jsut say after what her father did to her, she had all the reasons to leave him and this city…

p style= »text-align:justify; »>I really loved this book, it was SO GOOD! I loved the couple Nick and Emmy formed, I loved seeing the couple from book 1 but also all the secondary characters (getting their own book later). I loved all the secondary characters, except 2 of them aka Emmy’s dad and girlfriend, but I did loved Emmy’s mother and her boyfriend, they were so cute together!
I also really appreciate the story about Mason, I was so happy that he had an HEA. I wanted to enter the book and the story the hug him and take him with me.
And let’s not forget Devney Perry’s writing style. I love it. It is so easy to read, you don’t want to put book down. And I love the story behind the name of the book, it fits so well the book.

The only thing that I didn’t like about The Clover Chapel is the ending with Emmy’s friend Steffie. I won’t say what happened but it was a serious twist to the story and even if I didn’t see it coming, I think it wasn’t necessary to the book. It was too much, maybe if it was the major thing of this book, it would have been okay but this + the other thing, yeah it was too much. I would have prefered if it wasn’t in the book but well at least it didn’t last long.

Anyway, I think this book and this series are the perfect books for this summer. You will love reading them at the beach or lying at the swimming pool or at home with a fresh drink. Really you should check this series, it is so good! I can’t wait to read the next book, The Lucky Heart. It will be released on August 15th 2017.
