Title: The Goal (Off-Campus #4)
Author: Elle Kennedy
Release date: September 26th 2016
She’s good at achieving her goals…
College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.
But the game just got a whole lot more complicated
Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.
The Goal is the fourth book of the Off-Campus series by Elle Kennedy. Even if The Goal can be read as a standalone, couples from the previous books makes their appearances in this one.
This is the story of Tucker, a hockey player, living with Dean, Logan and Garrett (Main characters from the previous books) and Sabrina. Before this book, the only think we knew about Sabrina was that she hated Dean, like really hated him. Let’s just say I wasn’t super thrill when I knew that Tucker’s love interest was her. But she is just poorly understood. Without spoiling, she had a tough childhood. Her step-father is an as*hole and her granny well she isn’t really all sunshine.
The first half of The Goal is set at the same time as The Score. At the beginning Dean isn’t really with Allie. The story starts with Sabrina meeting Tucker at the bar after she met one professor from Harvard at a cocktail party. Her dream is to go to Harvard to become a lawyer. The chemistry is there right at the beginning. But you can’t not love Tucker. This guy is gold seriously. So they met, they slept together and it was supposed to be a one night thing. But as you can guess, it was more. Tucker knew since the start that he was attracted to Sabrina. It was a little harder for her to admit her feelings. They hook up from time to time until something happened *spoiler here from book 3, highlight to read* at the time of Beau’s death .
I was so set to hate Sabrina. I don’t know why but from the previous book, I wasn’t found of her. But in this book, Elle Kennedy made me love her. You learn to know her and she is so hard to break. She is used to be alone and to take care of thing by herself so it was hard for her to really trust Tucker. And God Tucker was a Saint in this book. Always here for Sabrina, no matter what. Even when he wanted something, he let her decide even if it wasn’t what he wanted. Yes, they aren’t really together until the last quarter of the book, but it wouldn’t have been realistic if they were together before. Yes I wanted to slap Sabrina once Jamie was here. But I also understand her so. You might think of Sabrina as a selfish but I really think that she is a selfless one, she wanted the best for Tucker before her own happiness. I also really loved when Tucker took Sabrina outside of her home to live together.
The ending was perfect, seeing Tucker with little Jamie, him succeeded in his business, seeing Sabrina happy with her little family. It really was the perfect story and I wouldn’t have seen Tucker with anyone else. They are seriously perfect for each other. It is not my favorite book of the series but it is a close one.
The Goal was another 5 stars book for me. A spin-off series is on the move. I really hope we will have Summer (Dean’s sister) and Fitz’ story, together or not.
All the series will have new cover (without abs ^^) so if you had already purchased the three first books with the old cover, you can order The Goal with the abs cover on Elle Kennedy’s site (for international, it’s $30 shipping fees included). If you order it from amazon you will receive the new cover. Personally I am not a huge fan of the new cover, the only one I like is the one for The Goal…
